Boy O' Fondant

I recently took on the challenge of creating a basketball theme cake for my newphew's 2nd birthday. Let me just say that my hat's off to all of the amazing bakers who make fondant work look like a "cake walk". After hours of attemps I was finally able to get a somewhat smooth surface. I was overall pleased with my first attempt but I will definately be attending a Fondant class in the near future.

Breakfast At Tiffany Baby Shower

I am so blessed to have an amazing and talented family. My mother and sister hosted my "Breakfast At Tiffany" themed baby shower last month. Words cannot express how beautiful this day turned out to be. I can definitely see where I get my desire for all things decor.

Vendor Spot Light: Pink Sparkle Spa

I'm so very pleased to post on this new vendor. Owner Akira Pinkerton is a dear friend of mine for too many years to count. We actually were in the same kindergarten class! She is in the process of launching her new site Pink Sparkle Spa, a mobile spa party servicing Chattanooga, TN. Chocolate Covered Pretzel Rods

A few weeks ago Eddie, Paul , Erol and I ventured into an amazing candy store at Atlantic Station for some ice cream. While there I couldn't help but browse the store for a little inspiration. Marshmallow Pops and Chocolate covered pretzels are apparently all the rave. Every color and design you could imagine. I am going to find a reason to incorporate at least one of the two into my next table. Both treats are super simple to prepare and a favorite among kids and adults.

Chocolate covered pretzel rods also make great wedding and shower favors. Attach a monogramed thank you tag and a friendly note from the bride and groom. Why spend tons of money on a favor that guest will trash or forget about in the coming days. With edible favors your guest will enjoy the treat right away.

Sweet 16

I'm currently in the brainstorm process of designing a dessert table for Susan's fabulous Sweet 16 party. I'm always looking for inspiration when deciding the layout of a table. I looked to Style Me Pretty and Aisha of Doobydesigns to inspire hues of glamorous pinks. I'm really excited about doing such a girly table and I will be pulling out all the stops. Stay tuned for detailed behind the scenes.

DIY Key Lime Cupcakes

So after a very bad trial and error I was finally able to perfect key lime cupcakes. Tianna requested something different for desserts so I decided to try my hand at marshmallow pops and key lime cupcakes. Stay tuned for the DIY marshmallow pops.

The key to perfecting moist cupcakes is to make sure that there is pudding in the cake mix. I also added real key lime juice to the frosting. I was very pleased with the appearance and more importantly, the taste.
